The "COOL-U" Phase Change garment is designed to be worn beneath clothing without the physiological problems that would result from ice packs being placed in close proximity to the skin. The vest comes with 4 mechanically sealed inserts created from a unique Phase Change Material (PCM) which store "Cooling Energy". After freezing the inserts by placing them ice water or in a refrigerator for approximately twenty-five (25) minutes (they freeze at 58 degrees, so a refrigerator will freeze them), "COOL-U" PCM Cooling Vests deliver a constant temperature of 58F/14C for 2-3 hours.
"COOL-U" PCM Cooling Vests are ideal for wearing under HazMat and other Protective Suits (or a mascot costume). They can also be worn as an alternative to standard evaporative cooling vests which must be worn outside of clothing to be effective.
Each vest has side and shoulder "Velcro" adjustments to accommodate various shapes and sizes. Custom sizes (sizes smaller or larger than those listed) are available on request, but there will be a delay in shipping.
